At REM, we don’t want anything from you; we only want to support you, your family, your church, your leaders, and your ministries. We want you to be connected with REM and with each other—that’s it.

Meet REM Leaders

Dr. Joey and Lisa White

Joey and Lisa have served together in ministry for over 25 years. They have six children and live in Granbury, Texas. Joey is the co-founder of StoneWater Church of Granbury, Texas. Joey started Practical Theological Seminary in 2019 and serves as President. Joey started REM Churches in 2022 to build up churches across America. Joey envisions all kinds of churches coming together as a family for mutual learning and collaboration to build up the Church in America.

Chris and Lauryn Carver

Chris and Lauryn serve as the Directors of REM Churches and call Granbury, Texas home. They have two kids, Eleanor and Cyrus. Together, they look forward to building relationships with churches all over the world as REM Churches grow. Chris and Lauryn are always willing to listen and would love to hear from you. Michael and Misty Carter

Michael serves as our REM Director of Development. Michael and his wife Misty live in Tolar, Texas and have two grown children. The Carters are passionate about ministry and obedient to wherever God leads them. They would love to chat with you and hear your story.

OUR BELIEFS — What do we believe?

JESUS.

Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. Jesus is the only way to be saved from our sins, and He is our only hope for heaven.

*Practically, we follow Jesus and all His teachings because He is our Savior and Lord.

THE BIBLE.

God’s Word is perfect and without error. The Bible is trustworthy and true because it is God’s Word. The Bible is our sole source of authority.

*Practically, if the Bible says it, we believe it, and we believe it is available to us today.

Joey has found that if a church misses these two beliefs, they have missed it all. He also understands that we can disagree about most of the other areas of theology and still love one another and work side-by-side in ministry. If you are going to heaven, we will work with you here on earth, because we will spend all eternity worshiping together in heaven.

As far as other doctrines of our Christian faith, REM Churches would be described as conservative in beliefs and open to trying new strategies of reaching people as Scripture permits.
